“ I loved this place. First stop on my most recent trip to NY, and it did not disappoint in the least bit. I had it saved in anticipation of the trip, so I couldnt wait to try it. I honestly didnt know what to get until the woman ahead of me ordered, and I asked whats that she got? It turned out to be Aloo Pie, so I decided to have it with Trini corned beef and pepper sauce. SO. DAMN. GOOD!! So good I ended up getting a second one Took a pic of the first one that I almost inhaled. We also tried the Oxtail Curry Roti and BussUp, both equally fire . I will definitely be coming back here on my next trip and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND hitting this place up when youre in the Jamaica, NY area. ”
“ I visited this place last week with my family and the food was just AMAZING. But there one thing I must say. There was an older woman with a hat talking to another customer and I heard her telling this young woman that her workplace is so stressful and overwhelming. As a customer I think that was something to discuss in private but there are no complaints because I really enjoy the food because it was a 1010 for me and my kids. ”
“ Where money matters, they deliver amazing food for a great price. Doubles on point. Flavor for days, just finished BBQ Chicken and Baked Macaroni Pie. Aunty put her big toe in it. Love the food, love the service, always great tunes playing and something to watch on the TV. Sit down or take out, old school vibes. Update 1525 Still yet to find something that doesnt taste good, got the Chicken roti and I must say, this is heaven. Have my lunch for the next 2 days and still got some BBQ chicken and rice for for after. Even after being frozen it taste even better. I love this place, keep up the good work. ”

I appreciate that the servings were very filling. Im not a person who requires extra smiley customer service I just like the fact that no one was rude when I asked for a small taste. “ For along time I wanted to try Tamarind Island. My husband and I tried it on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered a regular double, double with curry goat, double with veggies and a curry goat roti. Customer service was amazing. I talked to the owner for awhile. He was so nice I told him I follow him on IG. The doubles were amazing nice and spicywe ordered it that way. The curry goat was tender and flavorful. We loved the roti too. The Tamarind sauce was so delicious. This is definitely going to be my go to spot. ”

Their tamarind wings live up to all the rave The doubles with curry chick peas, pepper and tamarind sauce are a MUST as a vegan option and are melt in your mouth goodness. Heads up no desserts to speak of so get that somewhere else if youre like me and like something sweet after a great meal. Worth the trip. ”
